Nelufer Nazrul is a PhD Candidate in Migration Studies at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa).

She has nine years of programme leadership and applied research experience across South Asia and Europe, including roles with UNICEF, Helvetas, and the Centre on Law and Social Transformation (University of Bergen / CMI).
Her doctoral research examines migrant and refugee integration, welfare access, and belonging among South Asian queer migrants in Portugal and Norway. She holds an MPhil in Global Development Theory and Practice from the University of Bergen and an MA in Human Rights from Malmö University, Bachelor (Hon’s) & Masters in International Relations from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and LL.B & LL.M from Bangladesh as well.
She speaks Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, English, Portuguese and Norwegian.
