Welcome to Exchanges on Law & Social Transformation in São Paulo (BeExSampa) from 5-8 December 2022!

Facts about São Paulo:

São Paulo is the most populous city not just in Brazil, but also in the Western and Southern Hemispheres, and is the capital of the state of São Paulo. It is a cosmopolitan, melting pot city, home to the largest Arab, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese diasporas.

What to do during your spare time: São Paulo has many museums, movie theatres, theatres, libraries and cultural centres besides several restaurants and bars. You can find more information on: https://cidadedesaopaulo.com/?lang=en.

Please keep in mind that even in summer the weather in São Paulo can be quite unpredictable. Every single season of the year can be experienced in just one day! The tip is to always have on your bag a tank top, a coat and an umbrella.

How to get to FGV São Paulo Law School:

FGV São Paulo Law School Auditorium will be the main venue for the BeExSampa.

Address: Rua Rocha, n. 233, Bela Vista – São Paulo/SP

From the conference hotel The Universe Paulista by Intercity to FGV, you will take a 5 minutes walk. First, exit the hotel and head north on Pamplona Street towards Itapeva Street for 68 meters, then turn right onto Itapeva Street and walk down for 240 meters, and finally, turn right onto Rocha Street and walk for 81 meters. The FGV building will be on your left.

Visa information:

The Brazilian government demands a visit visa for some specific nationalities. Check here for more information.

Covid-19 information:

For entering the country

Brazilians and foreigners must provide proof of complete vaccination against Covid-19 (that is, two doses and at least one booster) or an antigen test or RT-PCR test, with a negative or non-detectable result for Covid-19, carried out one day before departure.

The proof of vaccination or the test result must be presented before boarding to the airline or company in charge of the transport services.

For entering FGV

Brazilians and foreigners must provide proof of complete vaccination against Covid-19 (that is, two doses and at least one booster) before entering FGV’s building.

In view of the increase in the number of cases of Covid-19, including at FGV, preventive measures must be observed on the school premises, including the use of masks in closed and crowded environments, frequent hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.
