Corruption & Law
What is the role of the criminal justice system in the fight against corruption? Will strict penalties produce integrity in societies where "corruption” is a response to dysfunctional state institutions? This is not obvious if law enforcers are part of the problem they are supposed to solve. Settlements are now the prominent form of law enforcement reactions against corporations that have paid bribes. These deals are associated with few regulations, little transparency, low predictability – are often seen as a way for corporations to buy their way out of a law enforcement problem. These and related topics attract the attention of the researchers in this group. Research Leader: Tina Søreide. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
