Join our Breakfast Seminar on the “The Secret Reading Club of Kabul ” !
We will welcome you at Bergen Global with breakfast and hot drinks to attend the panel discussion between Torunn Wimpelmann (CMI and the director of the movie (to be confirmed).
This movie follows three young Afghan women who will secretly gather to form a book club and report their daily lives under the Taliban regime. You can read more about it here.
This seminar will investigate how reading and education can become a tool for population control under authoritarian regimes. It emphasises the ongoing struggle for women’s rights and the risks taken by those operating in the shadows to resist and claim their legal freedom.
