On the morning of 13 May 2021, residents of a quiet street in Glasgow’s Southside woke to find an immigration enforcement van outside their homes, sent to detain two of their neighbours. Within hours, hundreds of people had gathered, and one man had crawled beneath the van to stop it from leaving. Everybody to Kenmure Street tells the story of how a neighbourhood turned out to protect its own, and what that day revealed about community, solidarity and the power of collective action.
LawTransform invites master’s students in the GL-GOV, GOV and GLODE programmes at the University of Bergen to a screening of the film, followed by a panel conversation on protest policing. The evening ends with pizza and an informal social gathering, a chance to meet fellow students across programmes and continue the conversation.
