Rehabilitation in Bergen Prison: Perspectives of Inmates and Officers

How does the idea of “rehabilitation” work in practice? In this seminar, Yanique Anderson will present and discuss her study of Bergen Prison. Her research analyzes the perceptions of rehabilitation, from the perspectives of both inmates and the prison staff, in order to ascertain individual assessments of the efficacy and impact of rehabilitation policies and programs.

Yanique Anderson is a visiting researcher and Fulbright Research Grantee at the Law Faculty, University of Bergen. She is a Jamaican born dancer, choreographer and poet, and a New York City Posse Scholar. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Dance and Human Rights Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
