“What does the right to language and culture mean for Sami people in the Nordic countries today?”

To celebrate the Sami National Day, LawTransform, in collaboration with Bergen Sameforening, Selskapet til Vitenskapenes Fremme, FN-sambandet and Fritt Ord, invite you to the third Annual Lecture on Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

This year’s Annual Lecturer is Pigga Keskitalo (Docent, University of Helsinki and Researcher, Department of Education, University of Lapland).

The annual lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with Astri Andresen (Professor of History, UiB), Eirik Larsen (Political advisor at the Sámi Parliament), Kai Grieg (Advisor, United Nations association of Norway) and Øyvind Ravna (Professor of Law, UiT). Chair: Siri Gloppen (Professor of Comparative Politics, and CMI-UIB LawTransform Director).
