The Centre for Research on Discretion and Paternalism are delighted to invite you to our RDV seminar on Thursday March 14 with Marius Emberland, lawyer with the Attorney General’s office. His presentation is titled “Human Rights and Child Welfare”, and the seminar will be held in English.

The seminar will be held at the Department of Administration and Organization Theory from

Marius Emberland is a lawyer with the Attorney General’s office, where he has special responsibility for international law and human rights. He is the Norwegian Government’s permanent legal representative of the European Court of Human Rights and the UN Human Rights Committee. He has been a number of cases before the Supreme Court and the EFTA Court, and has been a member of several public committees. In recent years, Emberland has responded to EMD on behalf of Norway in several child welfare cases.

The RDV seminar is a collaboration between the Research Group Law, Democracy and Welfare at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, the Center for Research on Discretion and Paternalism at the Department of Administration and Organization Theory at the University of Bergen and the Centre for Law and Social Transformation at the University of Bergen.
