H. E. Todung Mulya Lubis will join us for a conversation where he will talk about his experience as the lawyer of Bali Nine ringleaders, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran who were executed by firing squad on April 2015, and his fights against death penalty in Indonesian justice system.
H. E. Todung Mulya Lubis is the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Norway and Republic of Iceland. Known as Indonesia’s most distinguished practising human rights lawyer, he has been lead counsel in a number of major human rights cases, including the infamous Bali Nine drug smugglers case. He is coming to talk about his newly released novel and his continuing efforts for human rights and for the abolishment of death penalty.
