Our discussion will cover the following critical topics:

  • The Influence of Social Media on Political Participation and Mobilization: How does social media serve as a platform for political engagement, and what impact does it have on activism and civic participation?
  • The Spread of Fake News and Manipulation: How disinformation campaigns, particularly during elections, are used to sway public opinion, undermine trust in democratic institutions, and influence voter behavior?
  • Digital Repression: Explore how governments may shut down social media platforms during protests or elections to suppress dissent and control the flow of information.
