Master’s student in political science focusing on financial measures to increase gender balance in politics.

Ida-Elise Seppola Asplund is a student at the master´s program in Comparative Politics at UiB. She did her bachelor’s degree in political science at UiT – The Artic University of Norway. Her bachelor thesis focused on the re-democratization process and incorporation of political groups in Chile and Colombia. In addition to Political Science, she has studied Spanish and Latin-American language and history, and lived one year in southern Spain. Her master project is inspired by the CMI/UiB project «Money Talks». The master project will investigate how and why countries introduce financial measures to increase the gender balance in politics, especially focusing on political parties.

For the past years she has been active in Norwegian and European party-politics and is currently a volunteer at LawTransform here at CMI.
