Prof. Pösö has extensive experience in the studies of child protection, social work and institutional practices, with a keen interest in cross-cultural perspectives and developing methods and ethics for child protection studies. She has more than 100 publications in national and international journals and edited books. She has been actively developing PhD education in social work both in the national and Nordic-Baltic contexts. At the moment she is leading a project ‘Child welfare care orders as interventions –a process view from inside’, funded by the Academy of Finland, and a member of the research team ‘Legitimacy and Fallibility in Child Welfare Services –a cross-country study of decision-making’ lead by Professor Marit Skivenes. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Nordic Social Work Research.
