Andrea Castagnola has together with César Augusto Valderrama published an article on internally displaced persons in Colombia in the newly published book Los Derechos Humanos y la Violencia: Estado, Instituciones y sociedad civil (Human Rights and Violence: The State, Institutions and Civil Society).

Official records shows that until 2011 about 7.3% of the population in Colombia has been internally displaced as a result of the violence in the guerrilla war. This paper examines the important role of the Constitutional Court in solving this problem. The activist role of the Court on this issue had forced the government to acknowledge this problem but also to give solutions to that population.
