A conversation between Diego Martínez, General Secretary of the Permanent Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in Colombia, and Elin Skaar, Senior Researcher, CMI.
On September 23rd the Colombian President and FARC announced that an agreement to end the world’s longest civil war had been reached. One of the most difficult items on their agenda was how to ensure justice for the thousands of victims of the 50 year long war.
With this agreement, the peace process that started in Oslo in October 2012 appears to near its end. The parties have set 23rd of March 2016 as the date for the signing of a final peace agreement.
