How can we hold multinational corporations accountable for environmental damage and human rights violations? Why does the current scheme offer subpar compensation for the victims? What can we do to ensure legal predictability while still providing suitable solutions for those seeking redress?
The opening presentation by Urša Pirc will focus on the current framework of regulation, which exceptions are applicable and why a coherent plan is necessary to undertake this issue.
Following the presentation, there will be a debate moderated by Siri Gloppen with two additional panellists: professor Berte-Elen Reinertsen Konow from the Law Faculty and Therese Jebsen from the Rafto Foundation.
