Espen Stokke

Espen Stokke is a PhD candidate at the Department of Comparative Politics, University of Bergen. He specializes in diaspora activism related to transitional justice. His PhD project explores the various ways Syrian diasporas mobilize for justice and accountability related to the ongoing Syrian War. Stokke has field experience from Washington DC, London, Tunis, Beirut and Istanbul. He teaches contentious politics and has an overall interest in political mobilization. Additionally, he is coordinator of the UiB research group, Democracy and Development.

At LawTransform, Espen Stokke is co-coordinator of the seminar series Transitional Justice in Norway and Beyond and is an affiliate of the Courts, Judicial Behaviour and Transitional Justice research unit.
